Pyotr Pavlensky and I brought a common fantasy of ours to reality by making our trial day for his artwork Pornopolitics a big celebration for the arts while honouring the legacies of Molière, Mayakovsky, Dada and Punk spirits. We prepared for months to achieve something that I’d qualify as grandiose: for a suspended moment in time, in a very hostile place, art did feel stronger than law and politics.
